The Master Cleanse
The Master Cleanse (also known as the Lemonade Diet, Master Cleanser, Maple Syrup Diet, Lemonade Cleanse, Lemon Diet, Lemon Cleanse, and the Beyonce Diet) was created by Stanley Burroughs in 1941 and later popularized by Peter Glickman in his 2004 book, Lose Weight, Have More Energy and Be Happier in 10 Days (2nd edition published 2005). Many people, such as Robin Quivers and Beyonce (see before and after photos, left), have lost significant weight, although that is not the aim of the cleanse.

I ran acros this article and found it very interesting. Seems like the people who have tried this had rave reviews about the inches and weight they have lost. This is something I plan on researching a little further. In the meantime, check out the link below.

Lose 10 lbs in 30 Days ...
Yes, this is my goal for the month of November. Some nerve I have, being that Thanksgiving is a little over 3 weeks away! Anyway...I'm going to do it! I am starting off at 174 lbs so my goal is to be 164 lbs by 11/30/2010. I plan on reaching my goal by keeping track of my food intake and exercises using Sparkpeople.com. As far as my food intake is concerned, my goal is to stay within the 1200-1500 calorie range. As far as exercise is concerned, my goal is to do cardio 7 days a week using my treadmill for at least 24 minutes(yeah, 24 minutes is odd, but I have my reasons)and to strength train 3 times a week. I will not post any weight updates until 11/30/2010, but stay tuned for odds and ends posts about Beyonce, stress management, diet and fitness!!

Starting Weight...176 Pounds
Yes, 176 pounds...my goal is to reach 140 by January 2011. I plan on doing this by exercising on my treadmill at least 4 times a week for 1 hour and keeping track of my calories eaten and exercise by recording my progress on sparkpeople.com(very good site I might add)...For those who have followed this blog in the past, I would like to update you on how things have been going with me...its been ROUGH, LOL!!!...Thats all I can say:-) But Im baaaack and ready to lead by example:-) I am still in school and will obtain an Associates Degree in Pre-Dietetics in Spring of 2011...Very happy about that!! Also, I have been working on putting together a fitness website which will focus on the three aspects of total well-being: Stress Management, Nutrition, and Fitness. The name of the website is HerMindandBody and the motto for my website is K.I.S.S. - Keep it Simple Sweetie...If you'd like to take a look at it go to HerMindandBody.com. It's still under construction, but I plan to launch it in January 2011. The site will be a cross between facebook and myspace...but the difference will be that it will be a community for women who have a desire to attain total well-being. Tools will be available to members to help them acheive their goals. These online tools will include food/exercise journals, nutrition/fitness/stress assessments, and more. This site will also be an excellent source for health/fitness/stress management information...Stay tuned:-)
